BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Rodents abundance evaluation:

Breeding conditions:

Lemming numbers apparently were medium judging from the Arctic Fox litters each of which had 8 pups. One pair of Arctic Skuas nested, nomadic flocks of Long-tailed Skuas were seen. The high number of Arctic Foxes cold be one of the reasons behind low numbers of previously common wader species (Spoon-billed Sandpiper Eurynorhynchus pigmeus, Western Sandpiper Calidris mauri, Turnstone, Dunlin).
